Parent Recognition

Despite numerous limitations and obstacles, Bangladesh has many outstanding achievements in recent decades. It has become a role model for other countries in ensuring elementary education for almost all children in the country. However, the dropout rate in elementary as well as in middle schoolers is not insignificant. The main reason for dropout is obviously poor socio-economic conditions of families. Despite strong aspiration, many families compel to withdraw their children from schools and, prefer their children/youths to be earning members of the family instead of school goers. Nevertheless, there are some families who manage to continue their children’s education by trampling socio-economic hardships and struggling hard with big dream in their hearts. Though there are different governmental and non- governmental initiatives to support poor students, there are no initiatives for recognizing those families’ struggles, determination, and success in continuing their children’s’ education. We believe that these struggling and brave families of poor and first-generation students deserve social recognition, more support, and respect from society. Paradigm Shift Education would like to take this responsibility and promote their dream by making the community more supportive and sensible to their struggles.
